IPX7 describes water protection—not every kind of durability

IPX7 indicates protection against temporary immersion under the conditions defined by the rating. It is useful for wet walks and accidental splashes, but it does not describe impact resistance, chewing resistance or performance in salt water.

  • The X means no dust-protection rating is stated.
  • The 7 relates specifically to temporary water immersion.
  • Always follow the care instructions supplied with the product.

Dry and inspect after wet walks

After a wet walk, remove surface moisture, let the light and attachment dry fully and check that the charging area is clean before connecting power. Replace walking gear if the housing or attachment is damaged.
